Flatware is a project that looks at developing a well-considered and manufacturable flatware set. The fundamental understanding of what makes these everyday utensils strike the perfect balance between form and function is what guides the project.

The flatware has been developed through extensive research into the ergonomics and proportions of pre-existing products. Various sketches and soft prototypes are user-tested in order to solidify a final design proposal that is both manufacturable and comfortable to use.

The final range of products are handcrafted from brass and then silver-plated. These ‘hard prototypes’ act as a physical representation of what a repeat manufactured version of the flatware may look and feel like.
